CONFERENCE ON THE EUROPEAN MACHINERY INDUSTRY
December 9 CONFERENCE ON THE EUROPEAN MACHINERY INDUSTRY
The conference "MACHINERY IN EUROPE : Perspectives and challenges for the European machinery industry" will bring together decision-makers, stakeholders and directive's practitioners. From their different perspectives -political, regulatory and industrial-, they will analyse the situation of the sector after the downturn and devise forward-looking initiatives for the future.
The conference will welcome the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
This Directive, which will become applicable on the 29th December 2009, has contributed to the creation of an internal market for machinery products in Europe whilst providing high levels of safety and innovation.
The Machinery Directive has therefore become one of the key elements of the competitiveness of the sector, which represents 10% of the whole European industry.
The Machinery Sector directly employs 3.25 million people, making the EU the largest producer of mechanical engineering equipment in the world.
The event will take place in the Charlemagne building, room Gasperi S3, Rue de la Loi 170 in Brussels.
